Last week my truck started to stutter b/t 1st and 2nd gear. Right after it shifts to second if I don't keep accelerating and just stay at 15 or so mph it kind of stutters. If I get on it or at any other time it does not seem to do it. last year while hauling a load of hay it started doing something similar only it was missing while on it or not, and at all speeds. The code said it was the apps sensor but ended up only being the wiring behing the alternator, moved them off to the side and it's been fine since. Any help would be much appreciated!

It probably is a shutter. Go to the parts store and see if the have "Smart Blend" or "Lube Guard" in a RED container. Either will work, pour it in and see if it helps.
This stuff does wonders for shutters.

 

Thank you very much badme! Is that a fuel additive? I did notice today that it does shutter at other speeds as well as long as I am just barely on the gas.

 

I would say, it is likely the APPS. Thankfully mine has been good so far but it is one of the parts that does wear out on these trucks, and if you had the code already, it probably means it is going out. Keep in mind that there is a replacement APPS here on the forum for less than 1/3 of the dealer price of the unit, and is better made than the Dodge one. I would check the codes again and try to reset the APPS. If still no go, replace APPS, $160 is not too bad for it.
BTW, have you tried to remove your comp and try without it?

 

It is a transmission fluid additive. The stuff works great.
