Re:mileage ? again

Have you tried cleaning the IAT sensor? {Intake Air Temperature}
Some have found their lost milage improved after a good cleaning.

Instructions here;

Hope this helps.

Re:mileage ? again

Happy. I had the same problem. My highway mpg steadily went down to 15 & town mpg went to 11.5. Then I installed a fuel pressure guage. Fuel pressure was 7 psi at idle, 5 psi cruising & 2 psi WOT. I changed the lift pump & now I am at 19.5 highway, 15-16 city. I am happy now. ;D

Re:mileage ? again

Seems we have to educate the dealership as to what to do with fuel pressure. Service manager at our local place argued that the pressure from the lift pump should rise as demand increases....is that right? If so then they will be changing a BUNCH of lift pumps!
I checked my L.P. first time yesterday...6@Idle--0@WOT

Re:mileage ? again

The dealer is 100% wrong. The lift pump only has two operating modes: starting and running. When you are cranking the engine, it delivers about 5psi. It's supposed to be 15 psi otherwise. Measured pressure will go down as demand increases. It's basic physics. I will post why when I get to my post from the TDR (not gonna retype that sermon)

Hohn
