measuring out Diesel Kleen

For those of you who use Diesel Kleen or a similar additive, how do you measure out the correct amount when filling up at the pump? I dont want to use anymore than is necessary since that would be a waste of Money. I was also curious if too much extra DK would hurt the engine, if so, how much?
I think these are probably especially dumb questions, so a big thanks to any replies!

I have one of those funnels with clear tubing on it. You can get them from any parts house. The funnel has a shut off valve and graduations on it. You just fill it to how much you want to put in, take it over to the truck and open the valve. Totally clean way to do it. I dont want to get any of that on me, smells like crap.... Hope this helps..

Just find an 1 quart or litre oil container that has graduations on it.

I use an Amsoil bottle, has 100 ml graduations on it. I carry a full litre of additive and it's good for 5 fills (200ml each fill)

I found some 16 oz. bottles of DK (can't remember where, Tractor Supply or Theissen's?) and now buy the big jugs. 16 oz is good for 25 gallons, so I just fill up at a little over 1/4 tank when I can, and dump the pint in. If I'm a little over or a little under, I don't worry about it, I figure it comes out in the long run.

I use 1 ounce of power service to 3 gals of diesel, whether it's the winter with anti gel or the summer diesel kleen. I use a blue funnel & a 20oz measureing bottle with the oz markings. When I'm done I keep it in a zip lock bag & in my truck tool box. Been useing it for yrs on my 01 & now on my 05.
Don't know if too much will harm anything or not.

I buy it by the gallon. the jug says 96 oz treats 300 gals that works out to 3.125 gals of diesel to 1oz of powere service.

Use RBP additive, it comes with a measuring device built in. Squeeze the bottle to fill the reservoir, then pour it in the tank ... easy!

I see by your letter that you use diesel kleen. Going to ask a stupid question. Why do you you use it? I was told by two different diesel shops that the fuel has enough stuff in it to keep the engine purring. I am up here in the summer and down south in the winter time. I am not trying to be a smart a**, but why do you use it? Maybe I should be useing it also, don't know just asking. Thanks

Redline bottle.

Periodically,I'll buy a 12oz. bottle of Redline from Pep Boys and when it's empty,I'll fill it up in my garage with Power Service or Standyne Performance Formula. I keep that bottle in a ziplock packed in my camper. I like to mix it up. Guy up the street has a '99 CTD with 238,000 miles. Never had a drop of additive put in it. Runs great.

I use some old 12 oz fuel injection bottles that I found. I just fill them up and dump them in when I tank-up. One oz to 3.125gal is the right ratio to raise the cintain 3 points. Two oz to 3.125gal will raise it 6 points, so if you add to much it will just help it along. I started using Diesel Kleen in May of this year when I went on a 1000 mi. trip. At the 1st fill-up I got 12.7 mpg, next 12.2mpg, last 13.2mpg. I noticed the idle sounded quiter, not so much knocking. The truck just sits in may yard most of the time. I haven't added any fuel to it since June, but I'll be going to Brigeport,CA in Oct pulling my 5er & boat (1000 mi) and in Nov I'll be going to Chico, CA (1200 mi). I'll see if my MPG goes up.

Wisconsin Bums I try to use it every other fill up or when I fill up w/ regular, nonbiodiesel as a little bit of extra lubrication ( I have no clue if its really needed but it makes me feel better anyway). In my truck a tank of DK treated regular diesel will usually get around 1mpg more than an untreated tank of reg diesel. I also think that there are huge differences in Diesel fuel quality from station to station and biodiesel is awesome-The tank before last I used regular untreated diesel (I didnt have DK any on hand)and got 17.7 miles to the gallon, w/ no towing. My last tank was treated biodiesel and I got 19.6 miles to the gallon with 40 miles of towing a 25 ft horse trailer w/ 2 horses (+/-7000lbs) .

no more dead pedal

when I use it,I get the bottle that makes 100 gallons and just use a 1/4 quarter per tank. that means its treating 25 gallons buddy. my tank will only hold 26 galloons or so and I have a 50 gallon aux tank and I would just use half the bottle when filling it with bio.
