Major oil leak from thin air?

Noticed my truck had a few drops under it the other day but didn't think to much about it. Tonight after running it hard the entire front end under the truck is coated and dripping and it runs all the way back to the tranny. There are no leaks coming from anywhere around the headgasket nor any leaks I can see at all. I mean none. The only thing I can think of is I damaged the vacuum pump seal when I replaced the power steering pump. But could it cause a leak this bad? I mean it looks like someone sprayed oil all over the underside of the truck.

How high up on the block is the oil? Is the front of the engine wet at all?

It's from the oil pan down mainly on the driver's side. No leaks anywhere above the oil pan. Dry as a bone as a matter of fact.

When you replaced your PS Pump was there RTV around the "snout" of the old PS pump?
When mine leaked, it was quite easy to see,and it covered the entire underside of the truck, pretty quick

Get a garage to throw some dye in it and with a special light they can find it in 5 minutes I know I had to do it .

When I replace my vaccum pump seal I thought it was fixed. I ran is about 50 miles and checked the oil, it was down 4 quarts and oil was everywhere. I took it apart again and tried to find the problem but couldn't find anything. I called fixin rams and he sent me a rebuild and took the price of the seal off. I never heard what the problem was though, it could have been just the way I put it together. I didn't have any problems with the rebuilt one though and we put it together the same way.

Not sure if i'm much help. My truck a few weeks ago was coated in oil. Turns out it was tranny oil from one of my rad lines. Is it engine or tranny oil?

If you want to stop the leak and need the truck till you get parts, pull the pump away, leave the lines hooked up, wipe off all the oil on the PS pump and in the seal retainer, coat the pump snout (not the shaft) where it fits into the seal retainer with good quality RTV (permatex "Right Stuff" is by far the best, it does not wipe/rub off when trying to assemble parts, its really sticky. and it will stop leaks where other RTV's fail) re-install the pump and it will not leak!
kind of a temp fix till you get parts/time to do a proper repair

Well I may have the self healing truck we all dream about (yeah right ). No leaks today. I pulled the dip stick out and it's full of oil so at least I ain't out of that. I'm gonna order the parts anyways as soon as I order the new injection pump.
