When I turn my key on, my LP buzzes for a minute. The pressure quickle rises to 15psi, and the LP promptly quits buzzing and the pressure falls to zero. It starts fine, and runs fine. My fuel pressures while running are normal for a stock 24v too.

I always thought this was normal till I was reading HOHN's post about hard starting. He said his only goes to 5psi.

Am I normal, or is HOHN normal? That is the question. I dont think I have a problem, I am just concerned for HOHN.... Just kidding man.

OH, DO be concerned for me, for I am anything BUT normal!!!

I think that the LP isn't supposed to go to full pressure until after startup. Most see about 5psi prestart, then teir max FP after starting.

could be the sender. The gauge is Westach elec.

 

It'll vary. Mine used to hit 8 psi and then quit. Sometimes it would do 3. Sometimes 11. It varied like the Texas weather.

 

Mine used to run for what seemed like quite a while - 10 seconds maybe??? and fuel pressure would reach 15psi. It went into the dealer for surging cruise control and when it came back, cruise control still surges, but lift pump just "blips", fuel pressure may hit 5psi.

Mine does exactly as you explained. I'm not worried because it starts fine, runs fine and has great FP for a stock LP.

 

mine goes to about 14 then quits

 

Mine shoots up to 12 then falls to 0. Shortly after going to 0, the wait to start light goes out and she cranks over.
