Lowering a 4x4
A friend of mine is wanting to buy a 24valve, but he has to have 4 wheel drive. Only problem is, the dodges sit too high for him to get in to because he is a parapalegic. He has a 2500HD Chevy right now that he can get in and out of pretty easy, but the 2500 dodges sit considerably higher. What all would be involved in lowering one about 4 or 5 inches? Im thinkin shorter coil springs in the front and smaller blocks in the back, but what about everything else? Or is this even possible?

My dad lowered his 99 PSD 2" in the rear for his 5th wheel.
One problem he ran into was when the rear came down the drive shaft needed to be shortened. With a load in the truck the splined ends of the drive shaft would bind up. I would think going down 4-5" would cause a lot of problems. Probably not insermountable, but still quite a headache.
I would think keeping the chevy would be easier.
