Low fuel presure? (8-9 psi @ idle)

Hey i'm still kinda a newbie so go easy
Umm... I just installed my edge attitude the other day on my o1, and I found out that at idle my fuel pressure varies between 8-9 psi and once in a while while hit 10, so I figured its time to replace the fuel pump? I'm just wonderin if i'm on the right track or not? and if so where exactly on the block is the fuel pump? thanks for the help!!!

you know what ill say about the bold.....

anyways, add a helper pump.... That will put your pressure up where it needs to be. Either a fass (to expensive imo) a walbro, or a holley blue. Do a search, tons of info on these pumps!

Thumbs up Good Advise

Listen to Blackdiesel, it's good advise. There are plenty of post of lift pumps and VP44 ailments to help convince you. I looked at the opitons and went with Glacier Diesel's 391 Walbro pump kit. Richard at Glacier is a most helpful and plesant person to deal with and I recommend him highly. Check out my gallery to see install.

Toxic,
Thats the same problem I have. I just got my FP gauge installed and @ idle 7.5psi. I have a new LP (dealer installed) and new VP44.
Is this your original LP?

According to Dodge Service Manual the minimum pressure is 10 PSI...PERIOD!
(I can even quote the page if you request it...)

The best idea I've got is Vulcan Big line Kit ($129) and a Carter Campaign pump ($50)...

I've got 13.0 PSI @ WOT and 15.0 @ Idle... No problems here...

14 idle 112/13 cruise 6-9 WOT

I'm getting the above numbers with just over 71, 525 miles. I tried changing the fuel filter and the numbers are about the same. Will dodge replace my LP with those numbers or do I have to wait for them to get lower?

thanks,
Bob

The fuel lift pump specs you list were superceeded by a tsb with a fuel volume test. If you went by those specs most trucks would fail.
