Made in India?
I changed my fuel filter today since my fuel pressure is getting lower 14 idle 12-13 cruise 7-9 WOT. I only went a few miles since I changed my fuel filter and the numbers seem to be the same. Time to visit the dealer.
I took a picture of my filter housing and noticed this inscription:

I had no idea I had Indian parts on my truck.
Anyway, only 7K miles on the filter. I guess it doesn't look so bad

). College is not for everyone, but I-Pods in schools isn't going to promote concentration or gainful employment. Wearing pants that fit would be a step forward too.
I read an article (blurb) in a recent copy of one of the manufacturing journals I see at work. It turns out that Bosch is developing and building a manufacturing center in India for diesel fuel systems and components. I have worked with some vendors in India. Some of them are very knowledgable and run a good operation, others look for the easiest way around requirements (read cheap). While price has a good deal to do with it, I hope Bosch intends to stay on top of operations at the Indian facitlity. I don't know when it's going to come on-line, but rest assured that you will be seeing more of "Made in India", especially where the automotive sector is concerned..
We're importing Indian engineers and other high tech professions because our young people don't deem math and science worthwhile. With the high price of housing, guess who's living with Mom&Dad the rest of their lives? I work for the school system here and I see two distinct types of students: THE I-POD OBLIVION KIDS and the STUDENTS BENT OVER FROM BACKPACKS(our school system boarded up the lockers

(In other news, I bet the same part off a Toyota or Nissan's made in America...)

My comments on the education goals or lack thereof of present day students was lifted from Business World and The Wall Street Journal. I have great faith however,in the Kids Bentover With Backpacks. They're a great bunch of individuals. I deal with them daily. I just wish they'd reopen the lockers. Nobody should have to lug all those books around. I don't have much hope for the Pod people. Hopefully, they'll prove me wrong.
