Really no brakes or just no brake booster?
j- all caps is considered SHOUTING and therefore IMPOLITE !

If you can't get the brake pedal to the metal, and have no power steering I'd look for the obvious first- power steering fluid- is there enough, does it look funny? How does your serpentine belt look?

It's not belt driven.
It's gear driven.
If no fluid check for busted hose.

If that is good sounds like bad pump.

Is your pump turning or a gear sheared off???????

sorry i didnt respond yesterday, but when i started the truck to move it out to the street, i gave it a little throttle and the power steering and brakes came back to life. i drove the truck a few miles and everything seems to work great, just cant figure out what happened. i know if i take it to the dealer they're ust gonna keep it for 2 days and tell me "we cant get it to act up so we didnt fix it". i'm gonna call a dealer on monday and talk to one of the service guys to see if he knows what could do it and if it would be worthwhile to drop it off............ all the fluids are where they're supposed to be also.

If it's below freezing it could be that you have some water in the PS fluid- or gunk blocking some valve.
I had mine spit out the old fluid and since refilling it with fresh good stuff the cold groan went away and the PS is working better.

Just a shot into the dark

freezing?.... it was a pleasant 45 degrees overnight here in central ca..... i see your point though Alpine. i drove the truck about 15 miles today and still have not had a recurrence of the problem, but thanks for reminding me, i need to do some fluid changes on this thing too. i'll keep everyone posted though, i'm going to call the dealer on monday and see what i can find out.
