IMHO....i think its a combo of both. It just how far you want to take it. My ideal set up would be Comp Box, FASS, 120HP injectors, 4" Exhaust, Stage II AFE, Propane, HX35/40 hybrid and maybe nitrous.......but that is just me. Really depends what you want to do with the truck. If you want to tow and use it regualy, this set up probly would not work well. BUT for me, being a red light to red light runner and light tower....i think would work great. In some ways, modules bring out the best in the hardware. My 2

Big Brother set of twins. Mach 6.5's. FASS system. Full billet tranny from one of the big tranny guys. Ported and polished head. Cam. New high performance injection pump. O-Ringed/Firering/14mm studed head. Nitrous and Propane. A TST PM3 Comp with remote stacked with an EZ or similar box. BD Anti Defuler box. I know I'm leaving some stuff out, but that's all I can think of for now. That would be my ideal setup. Should get around 650 to 700 ponies to the ground.

As you can see....the further South you go in Texas, the more insane setup you will see....everything is definatly bigger in Texas!

To start with, always the box. Get your timing advance, and better fueling curve before you throw injectors at the truck. Then, when you're ready for the injectors, the box will also have a boost fooler, which you'll need to make use of almost any larger injector (RV275s can be run without an increase in boost, but anything larger really needs more boost).

Dan,

Your combo that you've selected sounds pretty good, except for the charger. That 40/35 hybrid is not anywhere near large enough for the combination of parts you've selected, and the propane/nitrous is liable to launch any 40/35 into outer space.

Thanks for pointing that out Push Rod. Never really thought about that. People have just been telling me that the 40/35 would spool quicker then a straight 40. What type of turbo would your go with? Twins are not really in my budget at the moment....plus i lack the knowledge of how to pipe and match the turbos to keep them from surging uncontrollably! BUT i am getting there.....just a buch of reading still needs to be done! I want to do it right the first time and have room to change for the better if you know what i mean! Thanks!

If you're running an auto, you are sort of limited by your turbo choices. A KSB1B or B1B will generally work very well on an auto, but the KSB1B is definitely to small for your selected mods. The B1B is going to be a hair on the small side too, but if you don't mind seeing high temps when everything is set to kill, its a good choice.

If you're running a 5 or 6 spd, the full B1 is the way to go. Just about bulletproof, it'll eat propane and nitrous for lunch and come back looking for more. Its going to spool a hair slower than an HX40/16 (depending on whose 40/16 you've got, the B1 may outspool it too), but it will give you enough air to crowd 500 ponies without any trouble at all.
