I am looking for a good lift pump to put on my buddies truck. Anyone got suggestions? I have a BD lift pump on my truck and like it. He was wantin to see what else is good.

It really depends on how he uses the truck, any performance mods and how long he is going to keep the truck.

The Airtex type pumps are better than stock and reasonably priced. The FASS stock replacement pump is next, although I have no idea as to durability as they are pretty new to the market. Then we have the HPFP and Raptor pumps, full FASS and Airdog systems, belt drives, pushers, mechanical 12V conversions and the list goes on.

Do lots of reading as to what works and not what is being cheerleaded and you'll get your answer!

I put in a Air Dog big lines to the injector pump and life time warranty. got the kit with the integrated fuel filter good for a year or so and the water separator that just needs a little shake out and put back yearly. Not the cheapest but a one time project. Ed

 

I have tried many, but my latest FASS has over 60k and still can not bring it below 10 psi. It has been a very good and reliable pump.

Take buddies wallet. Dump out all money. Pick up all money and buy the most lift pump you can. My wallet only dumped out quarters so I got a Walbro 392. FASS seems to be the way to go if a lot of Benjamins fall out....

 

This is correct, buy the best you can afford. Lots of guys run stock/Holley/BD/other, with varying degrees of success. Just one man's opinion, but unless you spend the coin for an Airdog or FASS, or one of the belt-driven pumps, you're setting yourself up for failure. I really hated the idea of spending that much money, but on the upside, I only spent it once.
