Lo ngest running VP44???

this is a pretty old thread revived...My truck has 35K miles (bought it with 26K last summer - July '07) ...Put a FASS 150/95-1008 in at 29K miles due to horror stories of LP's and VP's ... sees a constant 12.5 (WOT) to 13.5 (idle) on mechanical Fuel Pressure gauge now. Hope it will for a very long time yet. I am guessing it's the original VP and the original LP (guessing again) was removed when the FASS was installed.
Additives: ran Stanadyne for a few tanks...switched to OptiLube XPD just recently at around 3/8th oz to 1 gallon, still seeing how that will do over the gallon of the product I bought
...thought about Power Service, 2 cycle oil, and other additives, but have not tried those yet to compare...trying each one until I find what works best for me...
quick question - for those folks getting VP life for lots of miles (like the hundreds of thousands here - 200, heck even over 300k on orig VP), are you running a FASS or still using the factory LP setups and just changing those frquently...I'm wondering how much of a difference running a FASS makes in the real world and not just in the pages of scary VP failure ads?

387,000 on the original VP-44, and 109,00 on straight WVO and still running strong. I have been through 4LPs and switched it over to an Aeromotive that use to be for the veggie side. Veggie side has the HPHF FASS veggie pump.
Now I probably just jinxed myself

I put a new one on mine when I was having problems, the new one did not do any better. I sold the old one to a friend and he says it works great I had over 98000 on it when he got it, he has had it about 6 months and drives it every day.

230,000km on the 2000 I used to own, spent halt its life modifed and an undetermined amount of time with a very weak stock lift pump.
We've also had a few trucks on out shop that have made it to 300,000-400,000km on the original VP44.
