My husband reads this site everyday for the last few months thinking his fuel injection pump was out and spent $1200 putting a new one in and to his surprise it was a fuse. Could someone ground him from this site for a week please. It would be greatly appreciated.. I don't want to have to hurt him. sincerly...married to a moran in oklahoma..

I'd bet my truck that it was still money well spent.

The original couldn't have had that much life left, especially being a 98.

Ok, well, maybe I won't bet my truck, but I have a shiny Oregon quarter here.

OUCH!! Mrs. linetrash75, a lot of us have pretty much "been there, done that." We feel his pain, and our wives feel yours. Try to take some comfort in the fact that it was an honest mistake, and that he and you are not alone.

Mrs. linetrash75, what's a moran? There's a Mt. Moran in the Tetons. You couldn't be calling your husband a moron, would you.
Thanks for the laugh.

There are just somethings a man shouldn't tell his wife.

Wife: "Honey did you figure it out yet?"

Husband: "Yes Dear, it was just a loose nut."

hehe I think this is a first!! I was going to tell my wife about this thread but then I thought I better not give her any ideas!! Anyway, if it was fuse # 9 that was blown on the left side of the dash, not to worry - the VP44 could very well been on it's way out, anyway.

I think I'd have to agree with the "better now than later" assessment.
The VP on the 98.5s were prone to early failure.
Consider it a preemptive strike.
