LiftPump R&R stories

Ok so the LiftPump remove/replace is a big pain in the ****...

im removing bolts and all of a sudden one of them just keeps turning, doesnt really seem to go anywhere so im wondering *** happened...

yea the stud came out of the LP but the nut locking the stud into the top of the LP is still on the other side of the mounting plate...

I am dirty, sweaty and (sarcasm)thrilled(/sarcasm) and if my fuel lines ever get here I might be a happy camper, especially since I am in the midst of moving and am kinda put off by the fact that I have an 8000# paperweight in my driveway.

Screw it back in, get a thin wrench on the nut and tighten it, hold it while taking the top nut off.

Or just take the others out and remove the pump, then fix it.

i already got it out, I just used an air hammer to make it cooperate

BTW, for folks replacing the LP, its MUCH easier with the fuel filter canister out of the truck.

TFGG,
Give us some info on your truck. You can fill out your profile by clicking on the "user cp" button near the top of your screen.
btw, thanks for that tip on the LP.

Finally sorted out my password so I can use my normal user name at the shop and not cause any more confusion

Banjo fittings, no matter how much cussing is involved, are not easy to work with when you cant see the hole they go into.

I hope that I get my new fuel lines tomorrow which I should unless customs thinks they are WMDs or something... otherwise ill have to improvise with what is left of my stock fuel lines...

I wrote step by step instructions for those that need them and I changed so many, I had it down to about 35 minutes including removing the fuel canister. The instructions are posted in the tech section somewhere.

I don't do no steenking lift pumps no more. I eliminated that problem for good.

When you start installing the new fuel lines, remove the intake horn as well as the filter canister mounting bracket. Makes the job alot easier. Be sure to put a rag or something in the intake and intercooler boot. Are you installing the Max Flow kit from Wildcat, or something else.
