Life Time Tranny Warranty!!!

Ok, so today Dodge says life time tranny warranty. The article says only if the customer keeps the vehicle and doesnt trade it or sell it. Also, must come in every 5yrs for service. I must say the first thing that came to my mind when reading this was , now if thats going to make me run out and dump $40,000 in a new dodge they are dreaming. I love Dodges but after owning 3 of them and all 3 of them but 1 had tranny trouble and the 1 dodge that didnt have tranny trouble is a standard. My first new Dodge made it to 18,000 miles before the tranny went and that was a gas engine and Dodge gave me the run around on getting it replaced and the second tranny well I traded it off at 56,000 miles and it was a gas engine and I never pulled anything. Think what you want, but I dont trust Dodge in their warranty scam. Nice try Dodge

Read the actual warranty contract and tell me that you don't trust it. This is not your old Dodge anymore, this is Cerberus' way of moving vehicles, and it will undoubtedly work better than almost anything else they have recently tried.

It won't cover the SRT's and Diesels, but only a fool would consider that knowing how long and hard these are driven.

But the 5 year check is a FREE one, so I don't know how anyone could object to that.

All in all, I think it is great!

Also, correct me if I'm wrong but this won't cover any of the Sprinter vans either, even the gas models, again I'm sure its because of absolute abuse from fleet drivers.

How many of your tranny's were RFE's? I know that they are a much better trans than the 46/47RE trannies.
I'll still bet that ALOT of people will make a final decision based on the new warranty.

The comercial that I heard on the boob tube was that the warranty covered the "powertrain" for lifetime. Am I correct in what I heard? This would seem like the deal to me, especially if I depended on the vehicle to be my daily.

When I bought my truck this past March, I got the extended coverage warranty and IMO it is a good one. The warranty covers what seems like everything, right down to the motor and tranny mounts, all electrical, a/c and any thing else you could imagine.
