Leaking vacuum pump

I know this has been covered before on occasion, but the search engine is down.

I puked the seal on my vacuum pump and need a fix.

Is there anyone out there that has a re-seal kit available with all the gaskets, o-rings and seals for our vacuum pumps?

Can I just go to Cummins?

Also, ALLDATA has a TSB listed #09-009-04 issued Mar 04 that is titled "Vacuum Pump-New Seal Kit" Anyone know anything about this? My dealer is closed but I will check with them in the next day or so.

Thanks in advance guys, much appreciate any help!!

Jeff

Here is what I have found so far

TSB 09-009-04 is a vacuum pump seal service kit pn 05140342AA I'll check this tomorrow and see what it all comes with. Because it's a dealer part, who knows what it comes with let alone costs!!!!

Parts online can be found here.....

http://www.fixinrams.com/index.html

They seem to have all the stuff needed. Vacuum pumps and repair kits, Starter contacts, Denso alternator rebuild stuff as well as some specialized tools and gear.

Gotta make some phone calls now and see what develops!! I'll let you know.

I ordered the kit once to have a look. It's over $100 for 1 seal and 2 o-rings!!! That's the same $6 worth of parts I have gathered and used to reseal dozens of these pumps. Take the pump apart and take the seals to T&C in Cochrane to match up.

I am new to the site, so I dont know when this thread was posted, but I am replying anyway in case someone comes along and needs some info. I ran into the same problem with my vacuum pump and power steering pump. The Dodge part number is 04140342AA, and my local Dodge dealer quoted me $72.15 for it. If you Google (TM) "TSB 09-009-04", you can look at a PDF of the bulletin and see what all comes with the kit. However, Cummins part number 4089742 retails for $7.70 from the local Cummins shop. I was assured this is the same kit without the dealer markup, but I havent seen it, so I dont know for sure. So, if you run into a leaky vacuum pump, go to Cummins and maybe you can save yourself about $65.
