leaking radiator

well today will christmas shopping with girlfriend i was driving and noticed my temp gauge above normal. Well by the time i got to the gas station i was in between 200 and the 240. lets just say i coasted in to the gas station. Filled it full of water and drove to the shop. what had happend was who ever had the truck before me dropped a black handled flathead inbetween the radiator and the intercooler so i never noticed it. It got wedged between some kind of brace and slowly rubbed a hole in the radiator. I called all around town and only one parts house had the right radiator to the tune of 350 dollers. Installation went smoothly other than the wiper fluid tank and the overflow tank. Those can be tough to get out. I also noticed the new radiator is wider then the old one. Hopefully i can repair the old one and get it cleaned and resell it.

is the hole in the tank? if so, it is plastic & can be repaired only by welding. if it's in the core, solder is the answer ....... good luck
