Radiator Leaking??
Radiator Leaking??
Well just the other day I noticed that I had a drip on the drivers side coming from what looked like to me to be the tank gasket. I took it to a local radiator shop to have it pressure tested and they told me that the "header plate" was actually broken!
And they also told me that this was a very common problem on the Cummins and V-10 Dodge trucks, with this being a first that I have heard this. So with nothing to drive, I bought a new radiator,, not cheap by any means and kept my old radiator. Just wondering if anyone else has heard this or if i just got screwed.

About a year ago my 1997 developed a leak on the left side as well. I determined it was the gasket. The radiator shop I talked to said that it happens all the time to all brands of cars. They were going to try to put a gasket in it and re set it but the tabs that hold it on sometimes break and won't seal. So I replaced it with a new radiator. BTW the original rad was not aluminum but the replacement was. The rad in my 2000 is aluminum from the factory. Napa had a Modine brand but it was a lot of money.
