Someone mentioned the "key trick" for displaying codes. I'm going to look at my first dodge diesel tomorrow. What is the "trick", where do the codes display and where can I look to determine the code meanings?

Should I pass if there are ANY codes or are there just CERTAIN codes which should make me think twice.

Shoulda done a bit more searching first - found the key trick. Found some codes on the web. Still need to know if there are any Killer codes which would be a deal breaker?

 

The codes you should watch out for are P0216 and I believe P0235. Those are VP44 death codes.

However, I wouldnt kill a deal because of them. Many trucks have displayed one of the codes and kept going for quite a while.
