ether

You can use ether in a diesel [ I do not want to say any diesel, becouse blanket statements get us in trouble] but it needs to be use with knowlage and care, the trick is if you have a heater of some kind [ like glow plugs or air heaters] to disconnect the power source so no ingition to ether , then the next is do not use a can that does not atomize the liquid like suirting a stream , then next is to not spray untill the eng. is turning over and the last is when you do start spraying, aim near but not at the intake trying to get vapor not liquid into the intake after a few times you can get a feal for how much the eng. can take , if starts to slow down its too much and if it starts to knock it is becomeing unsafe.

one more for those of you that just have to try this, Make sure you take the filter out of the intake first. Watched a jerry big rigger tryin to start his truck this last winter, big ole pete with the side mounted air cleaner, It started. Then fire. lit that filter right up.
