Interesting Hard to start

I bought this truck a few weeks ago. I installed a FASS, SMARTY, S&B intake, and a 4" exhaust. Every once in a while it will not start when I crank it. I have noticed, that the times it does not start when I crank it, is when the "wait to start" light does not come on. So I keep testing the truck. I will stop and do a few things on the deer lease, when I return to the truck I turn the key on and if the "light" does not come on it will not start. If I turn the key forward and the light does not come on, then I turn the key back off and back on again, the light will come on, waiting for the "wait to start" light to go off, and it starts right up. I am thinking it may be something wrong with my ECM or the connection. Everyone says that the "wait to start" light is just for the heater grid. But if I dont get the wait to start light to come on when I turn the key forward, my truck will not start. May be something for other people with hard start problems to look at.

Grid heater relay? Or the heater itself (right inside the intake horn).

Well, put it this way:
What do you think that little "wait to start" light is telling you to wait for? Your truck is not equipped with GLOW PLUGS, it has a grid heater that heats the air right at the intake horn.

Fuel pressure steady?

Not to be rude, but what kind of response were you expecting, add some more fuel to your tank, charge the batteries???

Well what I am curious about, is that the heater grid has nothing to do with my truck starting in 90 degree weather. My truck will not start if that light does not come on when I turn the key on, so if I turn the key off and back on, the light will come on and it starts. So if you had read the post you would probably figure out that either I am trying to figure out if the computer is not sending a proper signal or other problems. Not to be rude or nothing, but I sure don't need some smart *** answer.

See, I didn't catch the 90* part, most of the country is seeing 50* and less this time of year.
I did "read the post". Good luck figuring it out fella.

Look for a small leak in your fuel system. Mine was a small leak in the o-ring on the fuel filter.

Put the computer in last night. So far so good. The truck has been starting every time.

If it acts up again, I would look into a new ignition switch. Had it happen with other veichles like this, but not with my truck. Just a possibility - hope it's okay now!
