Some say there are no disadvantages, I wish they had to freeze their tails off dropping a tank to replace a Lift Pump.

Personally, I would follow birddoctors advice unless you want to do like I do and just buy a replacement pump.........30 Min or less and I have one changed.

From what I've heard Fass is better. I have installed in tank pumps but see no advantage, filter screen is much smaller with in tank pump and more prone to plugging up over time.

I have the Dodge intank conversion and it puts out a wopping 7 psi at idle and runs at about 5 psi. For the same money get a Raptor or Airdog.

common opinion is it barely keeps up with a stock truck, although they seem to last a bit longer than the engine mounted pumps, its over 800$ to get one locally, I ordered an Airdog (lifetime warrenty ) and had it delivered to my door for 600$ (canadian) I believe you can get them in the states just about anywhere for 499$.

If you can get a "cheap" stock engine mounted pump and have a fuel pressure gauge, you will likely get by for a while...but you will need a fuel pressure gauge!

The intank pump Really is not worth much to me. I too also added a pump on the frame. I could hardly hold 1-2 PSI with stock injectors and Edge EZ. Now Im able to hold 14 with Bosch 300's and the Quadzilla cranked up.

I changed the intank out to the fass DDRP and it idles at 17psi and WOT down to 11 psi. It has a 5 year warranty i believe and is about 250.00. If you plan on going in the 400hp plus range, you may want a bigger pump. I am happy with the ddrp.
