int. dead pedal

hey there! I have a stock '02 2500 with a 24 valve. My throttle is going dead while driving, at idle and in cruise control. it's intermittant. there is no lack of power when the throttle IS working and no misfire so i think the fuel system is good. The check engine light is not coming on but I think it could be an electrical issue. before tossing a bunch of money and parts at is, I'd like to know if anyone lse has ran into this? is the throttle position sensor prone to failure on those trucks?
any advise would be welcome.

Check your codes.. turn your key on, off, on, off, on... Your odometer will display P Ecu. Followed by any codes.
Does your engine return to idle while driving with the throttle depressed? If it does is say throttle position sensor.

Do a search for 'timbo apps'. I have used this on several trucks I have worked on with good results..

A good way to check the APPS is set the cruise. If it stops cutting out or idling down it is not the APPS. The cruise control doesn't use the same system as the APPS...

Look up the codes and see what you have, 1693 is a companion code so its nothing, the 0500 will leeadd you in teh right direction.

P0500 is a vehicle speed sensor A.

That's where I would start.

The Timbo APPS is a much better solution and very reasonably priced.
