hey guys, I installed rv275's on saturday night, cracked the injector lines and it started relatively quickly. Ran great saturday night and sunday. Monday afternoon the truck wouldn''t start until I held the throttle half way down. I checked for codes and there are none, it doesn't miss while driving and has great power. Could I have installed the injectors wrong, are a couple of them losing pressure after sitting for a while. The truck starts great if you shut it off and start it again. But takes throttle to start if it has been sitting. When the truck is warm there is no smoke upon start-up. Thanks

 

possibly a slight leak in fuel system that allows truck to lose prime? really cant screw up installing the injector, it "snaps" into place. make sure all fuel lines that were loosen are tightened. check the quick connect right before the lift pump...engine schematic #3.

no visible fuel leaks, and the fuel pressure gauge reads 15, I really have no idea where to start

 

Did you make sure you tightened the cross flow tubes before the injectors??
They may leak in the head if you did the injector first as the cross flow tube can't seat in the injector properly. Not sure this would if that would cause your problem.

If it starts OK hot but has a long crank time when left overnite and is cold you have a leak somewhere allow air in. Takes a while to remove it to restart when it's been run the amount of air is so small it overcome it without a long crank time. Check all lines and such. Maybe you split an O ring?

thanks guys for the suggestions, I took all the injectors back out and checked for split o-rings, then reinstalled them tightening the cross tubes before the injector, which was not what my instructions said, and no more problems. Evidently I was losing pressure inside the head. I took a 500 mile trip this last weekend pulling a 2006 Suburban and got 17.6 mpg! The injectors combined with my van aaken really do make a great towing combo. I don't know of any fullsize trucks that get that empty, not to mention pulling 8,000 lbs including trailer weight. Thanks again.

GREAT, I knew it had to be something simple. The install is usually a no problem deal and the number we sell to first time installers we haven't ever had a problem to date etc. Glad all is well and the HP is what you expected etc.
