injection pump?

My 99 started yesterday, idled for about 10 seconds, and then ran rough for about 2 seconds and shut off yesterday. It just cranks now and won't fire. lift pump is working fine. (plenty of fuel to the filter) I cracked open injectors 1,3,4 and cranked and I get nothing but one little drop out of injector 4. I'm just guessing that I should start saving money for a new vp. Theres no codes.

Bluechipdiesel has a terrific VP44 diagnostic section to help you diagnose the problem and they sell good pumps. All VP44s are not the same so if you do buy one, get one from a solid provider like Bluechip or Schieds

Are you sure it's not something simple like gelled fuel?

My vp seems to be working, but when I got it started, the water in fuel light came on. The temperature here was 28 degrees so I'm not sure if that's cold enough to gel. All I know is I had to crank the motor over for about 20 minutes with 3 lines cracked open to get it to fire. I haven't confirmed or ruled out the injection pump yet.
