Inadvertent Smoke Victim
Inadvertent Smoke Victim
I was making a 50 mile trip this morning, came up to a car that was going 50 mph in a 55 on a 2 lane, went to pass and when I looked back it was rolling smoke like I've not seen before.
Couldn't get it to do it again though.
Truck is close to stock, not sure why it would smoke then and not do it later.
Any theories?

Probably let off the throttle right before you passed and the turbo wound down. When you hit the happy pad again you were dumping massive amounts of fuel before the turbo spooled again. I know I can smoke at will
For some reason with my old VP44 the first time I really got on it in the morning after warmup, it would blow a good cloud but then not nearly as much the rest of the day. Never could figure that one out.
You shouldn't be making huge clouds with a stock truck. You don't have a power adder or injectors, so look for a boost leak, especially that intake boot on the passenger's side of the intercooler.
