New style Carter LP

Anyone else seen these? I just took my Carter LP back to Oriellys for warranty and he said that this replaced it. It has a tag on it that says that its new and improved but the fittings are different. One side has the fitting for the push-loc and the other has a banjo fitting(already on it). Pretty worthless to me since I have the big line/relocation kit. Does anyone know if they make fittings so this will work with the Vulcan kit?

Yea I got one last week, works great 17 psi at idle, nothing less than 12 full throttle. I had bought a big line kit but thankfully a buddy of mine said to install only the portion from the fuel filter to the vp 44 and keep my stock fuel lines so that the new lift pump would work.

I just got an email from Eric at Vulcan and he said he was working on getting the new specs for the pump and will have a fix soon. Hopefully my spare will last until then.

So what's the new lift pump? Anyone have a part number or something? This is the first I've heard of it.

Just FYI, you can still get the original Carter pumps at Summit Racing. Pretty reasonably priced too. http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...239+115+400415

Sounds like you got the AirTex pump. Supposed to be a gear type pump, not a vane pump. They used to sell the carters under their name but became worried about the damage to their name because of the failures. They have since began marketing their own design, unfortunantly, right now they only way you can get one is with the original fittings. They are working on getting a pump marketed with barbed fittings for us who have moved their pumps. Hope my pump will last for another couple of weeks, I beleive that they will be sold at a "new" site, ValueDiesel.com. Looks to me like a very good alternative for us 'cheep' guys who also have families to feed and cant swing the extra bucks at one chunk for a FASS or WALBRO.

The new fuel lift pumps, Part Numbers 4932707(12 VDC) and Part Number 4932708(24 VDC), obsolete and supercede the previous fuel lift pumps (Part Numbers 3990105 and 3990106). The new fuel lift pumps have an internal bypass circuit in the rotor housing that allows fuel to be drawn, with less restriction, from the fuel tank to the injection pump in the event of an inoperable fuel lift pump.

There are no visual differences between the new fuel lift pumps and the old fuel lift pumps. The new fuel lift pumps can only be identified by part number.

With that said mine is rock solid fuel pressure ideals around 16psi and nothing below 10 hard on it pulling a load.

I believe you are talking about the campaign pumps. These are even newer than that. The last one I bought (OEM replacement) came in an Airtex box but with a Carter inside. The new one looks a regular fuel pump (more vertical) than the OEM. Completely different design with different fittings which are already attached.

Just went to the site above and low and behold, looks like it's going to be Vulcan Performance. Good deal since I'm already on his list to get me the fittings.

Yes, sounds like the old description of the 504 pumps (which I wasn't all that impressed with) Price was nice ($64.00) other than that though.....
