I'm Done W/ Dodge!!!
You can get a LP relocation kit from Vulcan. He is a member on this site. I relocated my lift pump back by my tank, and it includes 1/2" fuel lines and all the fittings. I have pics in my gallery. I highly recommend this kit. It is easy to install, and relocates the LP to where it should have been in the first place. If you are out of warranty, I would definitely look at the big line kit, and either another Carter lift pump (from Cummins), or a Holley Blue pump (you can search holley blue). Vulcan also includes a fitting for a FP gauge install.
I don't think that it will solve your IP problems. I just re-read the entire post, and it sounds like the pump should be covered under warranty. The Big line and relocation kit is more of a preventive measure. Skip the banjo bolts that you want from me, and go with a kit.

Yea I got to fix the problem now since this popped up, sorry...
OK, So lets recap P2016 is the IP and can be no other problem...CORRECT???
Or can the volume test prove it to be a bad LP???
And one thing I guess we can all agree on:
MEXICO REBUILDS SUCK !!!!

To recap......the 0216 DTC is an injector pump timing failure and is typically related to an intermitent failure of the PC board on the VP44 ECU......the dead pedal syndrome can also be a sign of a worn pump housing.
IMO, the volume test for the LP is bogus since it measures free flow of the pump when it is not under pressure.....when the pump is put back under pressure, an ailing pump will typically have much lower flow #'s. Even if the LP is bad it won't throw a 0216 DTC.....The 0216 DTC only signifies an electronic failure within the VP44 ECU - nothing else.

If yes, I've never seen one. The old school ones were "reman in GERMANY", then for awile a "black beauty" reman in "CZECH" pump would show up for the 98.5 to 2000 model years. The latest ones have been stamped "reman in USA" for the 01-02 trucks. I'm hoping the "US" ones will last as that's what I put on my truck about 4 weeks ago.
QUESTION, Can you not just replace the electronics on the VP if it throws the 216 code? If everybody says that the electronics is bad and not the pump?? Just curious. 150k and no problems so far, Knock on wood!
