New guy here and I need some help. I just purchased a 2003 1 ton C/C 6spd 5.9L. 4x4. 130 K miles and truck seems to run ok and got 20 MPG 250 miles home from Texas.

The issues: Idle goes to 1100 often, normally stays around 850 on first start. I noticed when the idle is high, if you turn on the A/C it comes back down, I tried tapping the throttle, no joy. Hard starting, (takes 5-10 secs to fire up)

I found the following DTC's : 0633,(SKIM Key not programmed)
0602,(control module not programmed/error)
2509 (ecm/pcm power input signal intermittent)
0234 (T/C engine over boost condition)
What if anything do these mean?
I know nothing about diesels, or where to even begin. I know the dealer installed a new battery, and the previous owner had put on a straight pipe exhaust. I am hoping to find out if anything might be expensive to get fixed with out going out of pocket.......if so I will try and take this truck back...Thanks in advance, New guy. Jay, Oklahoma City

 

Jay, You didn't happen to buy this truck in Dallas did you? We just got back to Ohio 1058miles with a 2004 that we bought from WFL in Dallas and we are having all kinds of problems with it. It burned a quart of oil on the way home. Have an appointment Monday AM to see what is going on. Good luck to you. Vicki

 

Not dallas but close, Commerce TX. Its going to the local dealer tonight to see what they can find on it tomorrow.

 

Maybe not the case but watch for flood vehicles down there after last years hurricanes.
