I Was Told Today.....

that if you pull the tube off of the turbo that there is a plate in there held on by a cotter pin basically. they said it was there to restrict airflow. is this true or was this guy talking out of his ****? would it help to take it out if this is true? sounds like it would if it is really in there.

There's a silencer ring in there that's held in place by a snap ring.

It doesn't cost you any power at all-- it just reduces the whistle from the turbo. People who like the turbo whine sound usually pull it out.

well i pulled it today....just want to make sure i got the right thing. i didnt really notice a defference with it idleing. is it a ring about 1/2" all the way around the inside of the turbo housing held in by a snap ring? will take it for a drive a little later to see if i can hear the difference

Your SB should not have a silencer ring in it. If it does you might want to call industrial.

you can tell a little diffrence not alot. I took mine off and i can tell the diffrence.

you notice it alot more when you go with a BHAF..... I love the sound but the boss hates riding in my truck. That can be a good thing sometimes!

you got 'er bud. not much difference @ idle but you'll notice it when you go fer a drive

yeah i cant quit grinning when i drive it. i am going to do a custom intake on it this week with a cone filter and no baffles in air tube for now. will eventually buy entire kit. should sound even better with more airflow!!
