one of my friends has a 2006 Ram 1500 with a Hemi. We where on the subject of talking about our transmissions. He had asked me what transmission was in my truck and i told him the 48RE. It took me by surprise that he had told me that was the same transmission in his truck. Sounded kinda of weird to me, since i put out about twice the torque he does. Does anyone know if this is true? if it is true that explains all the trasmission problems I have been having cause my transmission fluid is burned up! getting it replaced right now with ATS.

 

NO,I can't recall the Hemi's trans code but it is a 5 speed.

 

Thats what i was thinking, i could not be the same trans.

Yup, the hemi has the 545, you've got the 48RE, the new diesel trucks have the 68RE, cab and chassis have the Aisin 6 speed
