i changed my lift pump and

well i changed my lift pump today and it was pretty easy the hard part is lining up them banjo bolts and it was hard to prime till i just cracked the injector pump line with the key on you can get about 10 seconds of pump run by just bumping the starter then it started my pump pressure went from 8 to 14 psi at idle 5to 12psi at 60 m.p.h. and from 0psi at wot to no lwer than 6psi no matter how hard i pound on it i guess it was a good idea to change it. i got it from cummins it was 155.00 in cluding the wire haness i had to buy because i guess mine had never been changed before other wise it would be 7.00 less, that total price included taxes.also i found it a lot easier to remove the filter housing to change the pump i also should of bought new gaskets i just used the old ones and it was hard to seal.i am gonna order the larger banjo bolts and new gaskets from genos garage on monday thanks

I've got it down to about 35 minutes now (I'm on number 4 pump).
I always install the whole system leaving the bolts loose from the bottom up. Then go back and tighten everything up and get ready to bleed it out.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I thought lift pump was not to drop below 8psi at any time? Mine never drops below 11, even when I am at 3200rpms.

Your low pressure from your new Lift Pump might get better within a week or two, but a more likely casue for low LP Pressure is your fuel filter.

Be sure to replace your fuel filter if you have not allready. Get some from Geno's. They have great prices on them.
