How much boost for a stock 99.
How much boost for a stock 99.
I just installed a gauge set in my 99 and am surprised at how little boost I'm getting during normal driving.
Does anyone have a boost curve for a stock truck?
The only mod that has been done is my newly rebuilt tranny with a lower stall billet converter.
Thanks
Brad

the most you should see is right close to 20psi. mine would only squeek out 18 or 19 and down to maybe 17 when i got my tranny built. cruisin 50-70 it should be around 5 but probably for sure under 20. you wont' get more than a psi or two revving the motor in neutral.

My 01 will be anywhere from 0-5 PSI for normal driving, depending on terrain, right foot, and speed and acceleration.
Hammer down on a track, I saw ~18-20.
Now hammer down on a good long hill, and I saw the full potential rated power of the engine, with 22 PSI of boost stock. EGT's were ~1150ºF. My EGT's may seem low, but I have a cool air intake which helps out a bunch (EGT reduction of 50-100º).
Hope this helps.
