i found the source of my oil leak to be the common vac pump. its not gushing out but it still makes about a 4" circle at night when its parked. my problem is i have to fly down to texas sat and i have no chance of fixing it before then. can i drive my daily commute of 30 miles everyday or is this something that will blow out completely leaving me with a dead cummins.

 

Mine leaked for quite a while before I fixed it. As far as I know, all it will do is continue to leak.

 

you can let about two gallons leak out before it gets real ugly. just keep an eye on it.

 

Mine has been leaking for over 100K miles and probably about 2 years. Have the parts to fix it but haven't done so. Can't tell any difference in the leak from the time I found it. Wouldn't worry about yours at all.

 

mines been leaking for around 40k miles at least. its like an older harley, just marking its spot. mine doesnt leak that much, but just keep an eye on it.
