How to flush NV4500? Good or bad idea?
I tore my truck apart lastnight to put a new clutch in it, and I am pretty sure nothing in the tranny and t-case has been changed. There is a build up of grime inside my trans and the fluid in t-case is burnt. Is it a good idea to try to flush the trans?

Clean fluid will help the NV4500 live longer.
I pull the inspection covers off on the sides. If I remember correctly, the one on the driver's side has a magnet on it. You might be surprised at how much brass and other wear particles are in there. Just remove one or two of the lower bolts on the covers to drain the oil.
If you want to refill with Castrol Syntorq, check the prices at a GM dealer, or a place that deals in commercial GM trucks. Its usually less expensive there.

I always empty them, put some diesel fuel, plug them up, pick the NV4500 on the ends, lift over my head and shake, roll and turn it to rinse the innards thoroughly
attaching the transfer case will provide a more challenging workout...
Sorry, couldn't help. I would flush it if it was dirty and I had it out. I'd use diesel fuel, myself, and put it in, spin the gears by hand, then drain it. This would help get small particles out.
