How do you use a Briarhopper FP guage?
I bought a Briarhopper temporary fuel pressure guage today. I would like to know where to attached it to read the pressure. Also, must the air in the hose be purged in order to get a correct reading? With 60K on the pump, I thought it'd be a good idea to start watching it, although I've detected no problems so far. Also, I thought it might be fun to take it to the local meets and let others without guages test their trucks.

There is a shraeder valve on the VP44.
Looks just like the valve stem on your tires, but flush with the side of the pump.
It should be covered with a standard looking valve stem cap, screw off, black in color, just like you would have on your tires.
(unless you left them at the last place you checked your tire pressure )
No need to bleed anything, just hook the BriarHopper up to it and start the engine.
It will use the air in the line to actually move the needle, keeping most of the fuel out of the actual guage.
Once you've tested the pressure, disconnect (with engine off of course), and let the fuel drain out before coiling it up and putting it away.
Make sure to replace the cap on the shraeder to keep gunk out.

I have the Briarhopper gauge I installed it on top of the fuel filter housing on the offset plug, that's what I was told, when I purchased. My truck is a 98.5 24v I don't know how the filter is set up on your truck.

I refer to it as cheap, as I dropped it (with the old filter attached) while changing my filter a couple of weekends ago, and broke one of the fingers that hold the filter off.
Still enough fingers to hold it in place though, shudder to think what $ DC wants for a replacement.

Cool! That's where I got mine. Shipping included. I recently took a look at the physical appearance on my pump. The thing is getting all rusty and grungy looking and it's only 2 years old.
