MN, you will use bio-diesel whether you like it or not!

According to today's edition of Auto Tech Daily:

Next year, a 2% biodiesel mixture will be required for all diesel fuel in Minnesota, and Missouri and Delaware are considering similar mandates. The fuel is most popular in areas where there is substantial soybean farming. Conventional diesel fuel is available in about one-third of all filling stations in the U.S.

Bring it. I would burn it now if it was available. The process used to remove sulfur from #2 also removes lubricity. The Bio-diesel has very good lubricity. I would like to have the 20% B20 available for use.

Coooool, the more stations selling Bio, the more they'll ramp up production, the cheaper it'll get.

We just changed over to B5 at work. We track fuel mileage and repairs very closely so it will be interesting to watch over the next couple of years. I will gladly burn B2 (after everything I have read about it) as long as I don't have to pay extra for it (which I'm sure I will).

Haven't ever tried it as no one around my parts has it. But if on the road and find it somewhere I will give it a try. I like what I have read.

I think there are six states that will require differing bio blends in the next few years. In Montana state diesel vehicles have to use B5.
Last year the bio industry employed a little over 5000 people, by 2008 it is projected to employ 180,000. Besides the farmers it's good for the US economy in general.
