How can you drive with a straight piped truck????

I cut my muffler off Saturday after work and straight piped Dodgezilla. Oh my God was it loud. I can't believe you guys actually drive around like that everyday. I called my wife and told her I was coming down the road after I left work and to tell me what she thought. She said she could hear me before she saw me and you can probably see a 1/4 mile down the road from our front porch. I was hardly even touching the accelerator as I came down the road. I don't care much for the sound either. Needless to say, I spent about 2 hours putting my muffler/resonator combo back on. I may just leave the stock muffler on and rig the tailpipe back on or I'm thinking about a Super Turbo muffler from Jegs that is made for RVs and trucks..
I tell you, That truck could wake the dead! I'm surprised I didn't break any windows!! It does sound just like a tractor, except twice as loud....

oh, it sounds awesome. i have a magnaflow muffler and from the outside there's an OK rumble to it (it's noticeable like a modded gas-just better sound!). i can barely hear a thing in the cab. an allied muffler or some other brands will would be louder.

Thanks for the heads up Dodgezilla.
I've been tempted to excorsize the Muffler Demon but was worried about ticking off the couple of neighbors that will still talk to me after listening to my Harleys.
I still want a 4"er, but will need a good free-flow muffler to keep the peace.

If I was living out in the sticks somewhere, I might have left it but I live in a quiet neighborhood for now and I am sure I would pi$$ some people off, not to mention wake my baby up when I left for work. It is a little louder without the tailpipe on but I still want just a little more sound..

DODGEZILLA.... TRY LEAVING THE RESONATOR IN, BUT DITCH THE MUFFLER.. I HAVE IT DONE THAT WAY AND I LOVE IT, SOUNDS GREAT OUTSIDE, BUT NOT MUCH LOUDER THAN STOCK INSIDE THE CAB. I AM STILL GOING TO GET A 4" FROM THE TURBO BACK, BUT TIL THEN IT WILL STAY THE WAY IT IS. I THINK THIS WAY WILL BE MUCH MORE APPEALING TO YOU AND LIKE I SAID IT SOUNDS GREAT FROM THE OUTSIDE BUT STILL QUIET IN THE CAB.

Granted, when I hook up the 5er,,,, you don't want to leave the back sliding glass open for long,,, but our 10 month old gran-baby sleeps like she's listening to Mozart with just the quarter windows open. ;D I guess since she has gone with us to every Diesel event that we've attended,,, it doesn't bother her at all, not to mention,,,, she sure knows when Pa-Pa is coming home. ;D
"I love that STRAIGHT PIPE sound" ;D ;D

I had my muffler rem.. er uh ??? :-[ lost my muffler about a week and a half ago and had a piece of pipe added between the resonator and tailpipe. I really like the more "throaty" sound it makes now, but have to have the passenger side window down to hear it. With the windows up it doesn't sound much different.
I was tempted to lose the resonator also, but wasn't sure how much louder it would be.

CR
