Hot-start

I'm curious if these trucks come from the factory with the hot-start installed or is it an option ? [undecided]

Re:Hot-start

Hot Start?
If you're refering to the block heater, that's standard with the Cummins option.

Re:Hot-start

I had a '91 W250 and the plug was right under the radiator, I can't seem to find it on my 98.5 !

Re:Hot-start

Chip, mine's a 99, I found it hanging behind the radiator support on the passenger side. If you crawl under the truck and look right behind the radiator, it may be hanging there.

Re:Hot-start

Never heard of a hot start on a Dodge diesel. Maybe I am thinking of something else. Like a on 4 stroke yz250F dirt bike. It has a hot start, all tou do is pull the hot start and it open up and lets cold air into the carb making it easy to start. Is this the same thing but an auto hot start? -Anthony

Re:Hot-start

It's on the passenger side on a 98.5. You can bring it out on top of the bumper between the headlight and the radiator.

CR

Re:Hot-start

Hi I had a '89 dodge cummins and used and espar diesel fuel powered heater to heat the engine and cab for about eight years. It worked great, here is a link to their site www.espar.com enjoy and stay warm. ;D
