I get that code whenever I spin my tires a lot or if I idle my truck high on cold mornings. It doesn't hurt anything and goes away after so many starts.
Hope this helps.

If you spin the tires alot the wheel speed sensors for the ABS get confused and think they are bad. They're not they're just reading different wheel speeds cause you are spinning the tires.

As said above it doesn't mean there is a problem and will go away on its own. I had mine come on last week after getting stuck at my dad's acerage.

Yep. Keep an eye for it. If it goes away, then it was the spinning. I had that one here last week bustin' through drifts on may home from work. I also had my ABS light come on for awhile until I went for a drive the next day without spinning alot. At first I was scared I broke something, but then rememberred I had been spinning 3 wheels sometimes. Meeses up the ABS computer.

I have been getting the 0500 code along with 1693 and 1694 a little lately. No noticible problem and it only stays on one cycle of the truck. Doubt i would have been spinnning my tires. Not sure whats going on.

Don't worry about it unless your ABS light keeps coming on in conjunction with that. That would mean a bad wheel hub. 99% sure it is from having so much Cummins power and burning off those rear tires!!!! Cummins=too much power=spinning tires=0500....
