Help with starting?? somethins wrong

ok my truck just started doin this.. il turn on key til wait to start light goes off then i turn key and just here a click try again stil same.... it usually starts after 3 or 4 or more attempts it wil just fire like normal.... couple times right after it started my radio wouldnt work for a minute... anyone know wats up?? o and my comp wont change levels either right after i start it sometimes... thanks..

First thing I would do is clean my battery contacts. Then, I would start looking at my ground contacts. It just sounds like a bad connection.

Some coke and a wire brush on your terminals will do wonders...

What madhat said, and you might want to check your starter contacts as well while you're at it, makes for cheap preventative maintenance. I recommend Larry B's contacts...

ok that explains that but... now on way to work i had dead pedal halfway there before it cleared up had a irratic idle an lack of power only a companion code showing vp?

Maybe your starter solenoid is going bad. I'm not certain if this could be it but a clunk or click is the noise for that @_@. Then again the bad ground idea seems more likely with the radio not working

I still think you have a bad ground somewhere causing all these problems. I would highly suggest cleaning all grounds under the hood (not just the battery connectors) as a first step. Also, are your batteries charging properly? Are they still good? Start with the basics first.
