Help!! P1689 code returns immediately after vp44 install
Hey there! So I’m new to the forum but not the cummins scene. 2 weeks back I installed a quadzilla adrenaline on my 02 2500 automatic, after triple checking connections I fired it up. 10 seconds after which the truck developed a bad fuel knock and Plumed smoke so bad the fire dept was called by multiple neighbors! I removed the whole adrenaline and the issue still occurred. Quadzilla said my map sensor was bad(which it was not) but I still replaced it. After using blue chips diesels diagnostic The vp was condemned bad and replaced. Now the truck still has a fuel knock but has a (P1689)no communication between ecm and injection pump code that once deleted returns immediately before the truck is even started. I have swapped the relays, tested the harness at the pump and get a cistern 12v reading. I have a diagram from moparman but not sure what circuits to test. After Quadzilla screwed me and never returned my email. Please help I’m at the end of my rope and draining my savings fast as this is my only work truck so I cannot make money right now. I’m leaning toward the ecm being fried but can’t afford to buy one unless this is truly the issue. Thank you in advance.
Your display readings are all out of safe parameters so I'd start by tracing all wiring and ensuring connections are good and re-check all your work.
What is fuel knock?
What are your batteries sitting at voltage wise?
no kidding they aren’t at safe parameters. That was caused by a bad adrenaline module. It’s sense been removed, since I want the truck to be running properly before I worry about running a tuner on it
