HELP! No BuS and CCD
HELP! No BuS and CCD
Ok, I am hitting a wall diagnosing the issue with my truck. Here's some background.. 2001 2500 4x4 auto QCSB at the time of the issue I had a Comp with the pump wire tapped. Was still getting 18-20psi according to the gauge. I was driving the truck and it shut off, no warning or codes. Went to start back up and got the dreaded NO BUS and CCD on the overhead. Also none of the gauges were sweeping or functioning. The LP was not running when the bumping the starter. So I had the truck towed back to my shop and dug in. I cleaned the PCM ground, battery terminals, checked fuses, checked for obvious breaks in the harness, also ran a 12v wire to check function of the LP. The pump runs when hardwired. I removed the PCM and tested it on a freinds 02 cummins and had the same problem of the LP not functioning although it did not show the NO BUS. So I ordered a new PCM, had it flashed, when installed I'm getting the same NO BUS and CCD on the overhead. I'm running out of ideas and need HELP!!
On my 01, I got the no Buss in my dash. Truck ran though.
What I found was, I pulled out my dash and replugged it back in. I believe their funky plastic holders that hold the connectors for the dash don't allow the connectors to go fully into the dash recepticals. It's worked fine since.

I've had the same problem with the dash connectors too. They have a little clip that holds them in place in the dash. When I pulled the cluster they never plugged in well. I pulled the dash plugs out of the clips and sat them on the outside. Pluged the cluster in ans no more problems. The little bit forward seemed to force the into the cluster side tighter.
