help ff change no start
Did first fuel filter change today, truck won't start :'( I think the lift pump is shot, maby it has been for a while and this filter change just brought it to light. no fuel pressure anywhere. I took the fuel line off where it comes into the filter canister and bumped the starter several times, the pump was buzzing away but no fuel comming out. Am i on the right track here, or is there something i am missing? I filled the canister with filtered fuel before putting in the new filter and the truck started and ran for a few seconds then died. It has 50,000 miles on it.

rob
Re:help ff change no start
I changed my fuel filter and had to fill the canister prior to starting. I bumped the starter to fill the canister and it would not. Once canister was filled I hit the starter a few times and she fired right up. Have no gauges yet, but I think I had better get one fast.
Re:help ff change no start
Rich cowboy-I should have been more specific, i have had the truck for only one month, and while doing first oil change thought i would change the fuel filter at the same time. If it is the pump, and i'm sure it is, this could have been a blessing in disguise because the truck was running and starting perfectly, even in very cold weather. fuel mileage was also very good at 21 mpg highway-( Canadian gallon that is
