my 24 valve does not start good i have a fass 95 gpm lift pump. If i turn key and let the engine turn over then the fass will sit and run and run and run. should the pump reach prime and quit running? is the fuel running back to the tank?? The other thing is it leaks oil pretty bad but yet on the dip stick it never shows that it's low. would it be possible to have an injector leaking off into the oil?? i'm lost and getting frustrated any help would be appreciated... thanks.

 

Leaky injector? Yes, it's possible, not very common. Far more common to have a high pressure leak after an injector swap or issues with missing a washer on the injector, ect.

The FASS will not shut off. Unless you don't want it to supply the engine with fuel. The factory ECM will shut off the stock pump after about 30 seconds key on and no start. This will not matter to you unless you are using the factory lift pump wire to trigger your FASS relay.

If injector leaking you will know.
Did this start after some previous repair? Explain futher if possible.
Oil leaks, clean engine and look for source.

 

We had a hard start issue on the 24V we just bought. Turned out to be bad injectors.

There wasn't any rhyme or reason to when it would have starting issues (hot or cold) so we figured it was losing prime. If the HPFP was allowed to run for a few seconds, it'd fire right up.

Replaced injectors, all is well
