Grinding noise

ok, so i just bought the truck with 116K on it. I notice when ever i take off, either 1st or 2nd there is a loud grinding noise. I cant tell if it is from the motor or tranny. Its only when I take off from a dead stop. Other than that, shifting and all the gears are smooth. Clutch seems to grab pretty good too. Not sure if it stock or after market. Anybody experience this? It kinda bothers me.

yes, the front end is great. It sounds like it is coming from the tranny, like when you are lugging it in a high gear

Check the motor mounts (and trans mount). Torque could be lifting the motor causing something to rub.
