Gauges

Just installed EGT & Boost gauges, have an 02RAM 3500 auto stock,about what will my min. boost and max. egt be loaded? Thanks Jerry

Boost should get no higher than about 19 psi stock and EGT's can get as high as you let them depending on how you drive. Thats why its such an important gauge. The maximum "sustained" EGT you ever want to allow is 1250*. Quick bursts of a little more are acceptable but never sustained. The real maximum EGT from Cummins is 1350* but anyone who trusts their gauge to be anywhere as accurate as the extremely high dollar equipment Cummins uses would be risking their engine, which is why 1250* is the maximum everyone uses.

Thanks,haven't messed with turbo since mid 70's and those were aircraft seem to remember 1300* but was thinking the boost on them was higher,been on pure jet engines last 35 years or so just didn't remember,seems to work that way. Thanks alot Jerry
