Fuel sender banjo location
I'm going to install an electric fuel pressure gauge in the next few months, so I'm doing some research now to make sure I know what I have to do when the time comes. From what I've read, I need to install a banjo bolt that has a 1/8 npt. opening on the end to accept a rubber hose to run to the fuel pressure sender. The thing I'm unsure of is, where do I install this on a 2001 24v. I want to keep the stock schrader valves if possible to allow the dealer to be able to check fuel pressure with their tools. Can someone point me in the right direction? Where do I mount that banjo on the fuel filter to do this? I'm also thinking of replacing all the stock banjos at the same time to give better fuel flow and hopefully help out the lift pump. Is this a good idea? Last but not least, do I need to use some kind of thread sealer or tape on the threads of the ruuber hose going to the sender? Thanks

Check here. This hose screws right on to the schrader valve. Phil

I've been told that some dealers give you a hard time if you block of the schrader valve, so I'm trying to see if I can mount the hose to another location. I read some where about mounting it under neath the fuel filter, but I'm not sure where too. Thanks.

Call up Rod at Wildcat. He will send you some high flow banjos. The new banjos will give you three different locations for the vavles. This way you can choose where you want to put the gauge fitting. The way I did was to leave the two valves in the stock location, one on the inlet side of the filter canister and the other on the VP44 inlet. This leaves the banjo under the filter canister open for the FP gauge.

Diesel fuel will eat up the teflon thread tape...if you use it, keep it back a few threads from the end of the bolt. Otherwise, you would be sending the teflon tape through the VP44!
