Fuel Pressure Variation

Hey guys, I just installed my FP gauge last night (Auto-meter Ultra Lite 0-30 psi electric) At idle it's 14-15psi normal driving 13-14, WOT 6-7 psi for 6 or 7 miles like clock work then push in the clutch to turn in drops to 5 psi I take off easing it along drops to 3 psi. I shut it off started it back up and back to 14-15 psi. I was wondering if I could have hooked the gauge up wrong or what the deal was?

Are the wires all tied up out of the way of moving parts?
Also double check your ground connection.

I was kinda wondering about the ground. I'll check and make sure everything is tied up.

If you're all wired up right (personally I prefer mechanical) LP is headin' south.

My bet is the pump is going south. I installled my FP gauge yesterday only to find the pump was fluctuating just like you described. Replace the pump to be sure, if it doesn't work you'll have a spare for when it does quit. lol

Well I replaced the lift pump Friday. Boy was that fun. I wish they could put that somewhere that would be hard to get to Now my readings are 15 at idle 13-15 running down the road and 8-9 at WOT. As usual Friday as I was driving around trying to find a pump it read right on the money?
