Fuel Pressure Gauge Range

Hello everyone, I am new to the sight and am not to up on the computer age. I am in the USCG stationed in Staten Island NY, but am from Angleton TX. I have a quick question about what yall recommend about F/O pressure range on a gauge. From what I have available to me, an Autometer liquid filled 0-15psi, or 0-100psi.ANy comments would be appreciated. I currently have 153,000 on all original equip. I have a 100 mile run round trip to the base everyday, and am finally getting my custom gauge panel finished. I tigged an aluminum panel replaceing the fold down cup holder. I'll post pics when done. If yalll need anything Detroit check out www.Lucarinosdiesel.com// Thanks again. Stephen

Hard to answer since you didnt tell us what year your truck is....

If you have a 24V, you should be running a 0-30 psi guage.

If you have a 12V, you should be running a 60 psi guage.

And no Autometer does not offer much in the proper range. I would suggest Isspro or DiPricol instead of Autometer.

The 15 psi guage will read the fp you're getting on a mostly stock truck and it will show the critical fp range. I got the autometer since they match the dash so well 100 psi wouldn't be as accurate and would be harder to read. 0-30 is ideal.

0-30 is ideal. 15 is the optimum pressure for the lift pump. I went with a Isspro EV series. They look very close to the factory guages in the panel, especially if you stick a green bulb in them.

Exactly - guages dont read very accurately on the low and high ends of the scale. Therefore, a 0-30 psi guage will work the bets for ya.

This is what your looking for...

It's in 1/2 pound tick marks! Very good guage! Believe it or not but at night it looks just like a stock guage. Green tick marks and red / orange needle!

Thanks for all the advice here. I run the NJ side pike from 8A to 13, and the damm SI parking lot of an expressway. Boy these folks hate me in traffic with their low cars in the summer with the windows open, listening to the straight exhaust, and the raw fuel smoke when I kick it, and the Texas plates flying proudly up here.. Lift pump has 153000 original on it, I am going to upgrade it, but want to gauge it first.

LOL
First time I rumbled across SI and out onto the Belt Parkinglotway I laughed the whole way to my mother outlaws house. Big toothy grill is all they see in the rearview, rumbling sound like "where's the bus?" and watching them roll up their windows when I pull up alongside All those tough as nails NewYawkers finding anyway to get out of my vicinity!

Talking

on the way home today stuck on the staten island expressway parking lot, I was keeping my idle up, well I heard this beeping noise, so I look over to my right and there was this a-hole staten islander cursing up a storm wanting me to move so he could conviently merge. Well I let off the idle for a sec, enough for some good ole slobber, and wham, here you go buddy, might want to rollup your rice burning window. Just gave him the big TX wave.
